Officers with the Wilmington Police Department are investigating an armed robber that happened Sunday night in the 300 block of Marstellar Street.

According to Lucy Crockett with the WPD, a 21-year-old was trying to deliver a pizza from Papa John's when a man wearing a red bandana partially covering his face approached him.

The victim told police the man pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at his head, telling him to take off his pants and shoes.

Police say the robber took cash from the pizza delivery man and told him to run. The victim ran through the woods to the 1200 block of South Third Street where he called 911.

Crockett said officers took the victim back to the scene to get his pants and shoes, but his car was gone. They were able to find the car later in the 1300 block of South Fourth Street, with the pizza delivery sign still attached to the roof.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Wilmington Police Department at (910) 343-3600. Information may be submitted anonymously through text-a-tip. Enter Tip708 and the information and send to CRIMES (274637).
